Can someone go to Kailash Manasarovar from India directly? 
Yes, people go to Kailash Mansarovar via India Lipulekh area also. But the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra from India requires few days of trek and also the quota system ( kind of lottery). Now they have built a road via Indo – Nepal border to go to Tibet / China and then to Kailash Mansarovar but not fully in operation yet. Also, As of Aug 2024 Indian passport holders  are not able to get Visa / permit to go to Kailash Mansarovar.

 There is also an option from Sikkim Nathu La Pass to go to Tibet Kailash but this route is long and too high to travel which is why not so practical and hard journey not many people take.
