Gauri Kund – near Dolma La of Kailash Parikrama

Gauri Kund is located near the Dolma la pass of the holy Mount Kailash parikrama walk. Gauri Kund, also known as Parvati Kunda, is a small blue Lake and a yatri stop point while doing the Kailash Mansarovar Parikrama. While the most auspicious lake is Lake Mansarovar, this Gauri Kund or Parvati Kund, is also widely famous and this lake has some interesting stories to know about.

This is the lake on which Goddess Parvati, wife of Lord Shiva used to take bath. Also, this is the location where it is believed that Lord Shiv cut off the head of Lord Ganesha for stopping his way to meet Goddess Parvati.
