The advertised helicopter tour to Kailash is quite misleading as there is no permission to fly a Helicopter in Tibet / China at Kailash region due to security. So the Kailash helicopter tour takes you to the Nepal / Tibet border town of Hilsa and from there, people take a Jeep or bus to Mansarovar and complete the Kailash Mansarovar tour and back to Hilsa and there take a helicopter and back to Simikot Nepalgunj and then to Kathmandu. So no helicopter goes to Kailash and we don’t recommend helicopter tours due to 3 reasons. Reason no. 1 is it is going too high too quickly so you may get sick.
