Kailash Luxury Tour: Kathmandu – Lhasa – Kailash – Kathmandu

Today after breakfast we will check out from hotel and we will visit one of the largest shiva Temple Pashupati Nath – where many Hindu love to go and worship. The winter residence of Lord shiva. We will do some Puja, Abishekam there.  As you may know many Hindu death body are cremated in the Ghats of Bagmati River near Pashupatinath.

After that we will visit Patan durbar square (or Lalitpur, ‘city of fine arts) today it is a part of greater Kathmandu, was once the capital of a powerful independent kingdom. You’ll notice as we explore this area, a calmer vibe – the craftspeople here, many of whom are Buddhist, have created exquisite temples and other works of art which give the area a distinct artisan feel. Evening back to Hotel and repack our bag for Kailash.

After breakfast, you’ll begin your Kathmandu Valley experience with a visit to Doleshwor Mahadev Temple, one of Nepal’s most revered Shiva temples. Traditionally believed to be the head of Kedarnath, this peaceful temple offers you a meaningful spiritual experience before you continue your journey toward Tibet and Mount Kailash.

Next, you’ll make your way to Bhaktapur, a beautifully preserved medieval city where you can experience Nepal’s rich Newari culture and heritage. Explore the historic Bhaktapur Durbar Square, admire the magnificent Nyatapola Temple, and take a leisurely walk through the old city, with its traditional courtyards, temples, and beautifully crafted architecture.

In the afternoon, you’ll continue to Nagarkot, a peaceful hill station overlooking the Kathmandu Valley. Once you arrive, settle into your comfortable hotel and take some time to relax. Enjoy the fresh mountain air, quiet surroundings, and beautiful views.

In the evening, simply unwind at the hotel and enjoy a delicious dinner in the peaceful setting of Nagarkot.

After breakfast, you’ll begin your hike toward Dhulikhel. This is a beautiful and relaxed hike through the countryside, where you can experience a quieter side of Nepal away from the busy streets of Kathmandu.

As you make your way along the trail, you’ll walk past terraced fields, small villages, forests, and traditional homes. Take your time and enjoy the scenery around you. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to stop for photos, meet local people, and simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Your walk eventually brings you to Dhulikhel, a charming hill town with lovely views and a laid-back atmosphere. Once you arrive, you can take a well-deserved break and enjoy lunch before heading back to Kathmandu by private vehicle.

When you arrive in Kathmandu, check into your hotel and take the evening to rest. You can also use this time to get yourself ready for the exciting Tibet and Mount Kailash journey ahead. Our Earthbound Expeditions team will be there to help you with any final preparations, travel documents, and other arrangements.

Fly direct to Lhasa from Kathmandu and transfer to the Hotel, check in to hotel and rest for the remainder of the day.

Depending on time later we try to cover few sightseeing places including Bharkhor or Jokhang Temple.

Sightseeing in Lhasa (Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Bharkhor Market). We will take the tour in Lhasa while acclimatizing.

At the assigned time, we’ll begin our tour by visiting the iconic Potala Palace. Built in the 17th century by the fifth Dalai Lama, this magnificent palace offers breathtaking views of the entire city and is home to the private quarters of the Dalai Lama, numerous grand state rooms, and chapels. Afterward, we’ll visit the revered Jokhang Temple, founded in the 7th century by Songtsen Gampo, which is considered the most sacred monastery in Tibet. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of this magical land: take a stroll through the vibrant Barkhor old quarter and follow pilgrims from all over the Tibetan plateau on a kora around the Jokhang Temple.

Kora is a term used in Tibetan Buddhism that refers to the practice of circumambulating around a sacred site, such as a temple, stupa or mountain, as a way of showing devotion and accumulating merit. The practice involves walking clockwise around the site, often while reciting mantras, prayers or other sacred texts. It is also believed to bring good fortune and blessings to those who undertake it.

Early breakfast to get ready for an exciting day: we’ll start driving West towards Tsang region to ascend the Kampa-la Pass [4797m], where you’ll witness the stunning Mt. Noijin Kangsang [7206m] and the breathtaking turquoise waters of holy lake Yamdrok-Tso.

An unreal sight that will leave you spellbound all along the way to the Karo-la Pass [5050m], where you’ll marvel at the glacier that majestically hugs the roadside. The final stop will be the charming Gyantse town, home to the Kumbum Stupa inside Pelkor Chode Monastery, renowned for its exquisite Tibetan art paintings.

From the top of the Kumbum, you’ll also be treated to a magnificent view of the majestic Gyantse Dzong fortress overlooking the valley.

After breakfast in your hotel drive to Shigatse which is the 2nd largest city of Tibet. Built in 1447 by the first Dalailama the Tashillunpo Monastery in Shigatse is a very important monastery in China as it is known as seat of the Panchan Lama.

We can stay overnight Shigatse or drive further to Xegar to make next day journey shorter.

Note: If you wish to visit Everest Base Camp, we can extend  one more day and can do at extra price.

We take an early morning drive to Saga, please note this will be a long drive but on the way we can make enough stop and lunch.

Overnight in Saga.

After breakfast we leave for Manasarovar – a lake created by Bramha for Human being to get Mokxya – Manasarovar is the lake of compassion, tranquility and bliss.

Today we drive distance of 470 Km which takes about 8 – 9 hours,  we will do holy Lake Mansarovar Parikarama by bus provided by Nagri Kailash region transport service, we will also visit Seralung Monastery, Trugo Monastary, Gossal Monastery stay at simple Guest house at bank of Mansarovar. B, L, D

Called “Mapam Yumtso” in Tibetan the holy Lake Mansarovar is relatively round in shape with a circumference of 88 km (54.7 mi) in winter and in summer 125 KM. Its depth reaches a maximum of 90 m (300 ft) and its surface area is 320 km2 (123.6 sq mi). It is connected to nearby Lake Rakshastal by the natural Ganga Chhu channel.

Night at  Lake Mansarovar : Many travelers want to  see stars or apsara at Lake Mansarovar  at night. Many may witness its beauty under the moon light. Though visiting lake in the night is completely safe but it is advisable to go in a group and if possible take our expert team you for any required help. Dress properly with warm clothes as the temperature outside will be cold. Good idea to carry a torch and a whistle too. It is believed that Apsara from swarga or even Lord Parvati visit Manasarovar at night for taking bath.

Overnight in Lake Mansarovar.

A beautiful day at the piece of Heaven. We can visit powerful Chiu Monastery,  we can take deep at  lake Manasarovar or we provide warm water from the Lake in Bathing tent then join pious Puja or Havan at lake, and later of the day prepare for Kailash Parikrama / packing / discussion about extra horse / yak / porter booking etc.

Overnight in Darchen.

Drive to Tharboche/Yamadwar and start Kailash Parikarama ( Kora)

Today after early breakfast we drive about 6 KMs to Tharboche and start hiking for the Parikrama of Kailash parvat , total walk for about 5 / 6 hours.  – 8 mile, about 12 KM

The Holy  Kailash Parikarama trek starts from Yama Dwar at Tharboche. This day we have to walk slowly but continuously for about 5 to 6 hours.

Overnight stay at Diraphuk.

Early morning we will start journey as early as possible may be 4.30 Am, Our expert team will lead the group through Dolma La ( 5640 m) which is hardest day of all, and if you wish can use horse up to the pass. We will send some one to Gauri Kund and collect some holy water from Kund.

Overnight stay at Zuthulpuk.

Note: This day from Zotholphuk valley if people want can use emergency Jeep ( subject to availability) all the way to Darcehn and spent a night in a better guest house, if we do so, we will escape about 12 Km of walk and also we don’t have to spent a night at basic guest house in Zothukphuk valley, this is optional and cost extra of about USD 100 per person including the Jeep ride and upgrade to better hotel in Darchen.

Khora ends after 10 KM walk from Zhuthulphuk. After lunch, drive to Paryang O/N At Paryang / Dongpa or Saga Quiangjibu hotel.

Note: if we plan to be at Manasarovar after full moon this day we can stay at Manasarovar and next day to Naylam or Kyirong and then to Kathmandu, we have to adjust.

Today we start early from Saga and drive to Nepal / Tibet border and same day drive to Kathmandu by Jeep / Bus.

Note: People will have an option to ride Helicopter from boarder at cost of about USD 400 per person ( need min 4 person) , people who need to leave Kathmandu on day Sept 13th, they can depart India after sightseeing of Pashupatinath of Day 13, others will stay in Kathmandu.

After breakfast Departure to India /  Beijing and further to home, we transfer to airport to fly home.
