Is now 2026 Kailash Yatra all suspended due to the recent flood in Kyirung / Rasuwa flood in Nepal?

The recent Devastating Kyirung / Rasuwa flood in Nepal definitely impacted the border area and Bhtoekhoshi River Valley and temporarily suspended the Kailash Mansarovar overland route. But Kailash tours using the other route Via Lhasa fly to Ali / purang or using the north route to Kailash are operating. Earthbound Expeditions may run 2 or 3 more trips in 2026 using the changed route for Kailash Mansarovar yatra.

Not all of Nepal is affected; only the Bhotekosi/Trishuli Valley is affected. All other areas of Nepal are normal, and all tours/hotels/airport roads are operating. We have 3 more border/porter options to go to Kailash Manasarovar: via Zhangmu/Naylam (entry/exit is temporarily suspended; entry/exit is ok), Korola border, and Simikot border.

Even after the Aug 26th flood, our group of 28 yatri, which was in Kailash, completed the yatra safely and returned home happy.
